The foul mouthed fool Thersites (Ashley Addelman) drives the hotheaded Ajax (Diana Lee) to give him a lesson in manners.

The spirited fight between Ajax (Diana Lee) and Thersites (Ashley Addelman) amuses on otherwise bored Achilles (Michael Kaup). The Greeks have been fighting the Trojans for 7 years and he has gotten bored with it, refusing to fight and he much rather spend time with his "associate", Patroclus (Colin McFadden). King Agamemnon (David Reck) makes yet another uninspiring speech to rally his troops and that they will yet be victorious. The speech is interrupted by Nestor (Lee Goffin-Bonenfant) giving his two cents on what the armies should do next. All of the posturing and hot air leaves junior officer Diomedes (Tim Williams) shaking his head as it looks like the war is getting nowhere.

Hector leader of the Trojan forces makes a case that the war has dragged on too long causing too many lives and tries to pursuade his brother Paris (Colin McFadden) to return Helen to the Greeks. However, his other brother Troilus (Hugo Salazar) defends Paris' claim on Helen stating that if they give her back now all of the Trojan soldiers would have died in vain.

The Trojan king Priam (Steven Bidwell) has grown so old and sleepy as to only take a passing interest in the arguement among his sons regarding the war. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
Pandarus (Steven Bidwell) goes to Paris (Colin McFadden) to try and create an excuse to have Troilus disappear for a few hours so he rendezvous with Cressida. However, setting up the simple ruse is continually interrupted by the oversexed Helen (Gina Depeppe) wanting Paris' attention

Troilus (Hugo Salazar) and Cressida (Stephanie Jones) finally get together for their "first date' but the motor mouthed Troilus is finding speaking to women tougher than fighting in the way. The pair eventually find their rhythem and spend the night together.

A treaty of sorts is struck between the Trojans and the Greeks that each side will present their best warrior for a single combat. The victor will decide the fate of the war but really this is a ruse by Ulysses to get the prideful Achilles to come out of his tent to fight. Above, Hector (David Sewell), the Trojan commander and champion and Ulysses (Jennifer Mauerhofer) discuss the futility of the way that they have been fighting. The pair share similar practical sentiments that their blowhard colleagues don't seem to share. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
The single champion combat has the desired affect in rousing the arrogant Achilles (Michael Kaup). Here he tries intimidate Hector (David Sewell), but he is unimpressed. Ulysses (Jennifer Mauerhofer) smiles as the plan to get Achilles to fight as worked. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
The trial by combat commences with Ajax (Diana Lee) and Hector (David Sewell). Hector wins the battle and a brief peace occurs where Hector and Troilus dine with the Greeks. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
Cressida has been traded to the Greeks for a captured Trojan officer and Troilus inquires of his true love’s whereabouts. Ulysses (Jennifer Mauerhofer) takes Troilus (Hugo Salazar) to Cressida but here the pair witness that Cressida has taken up with another man, the junior officer Diomedes.

Despite the temporary peace, the Greeks and Trojans are at it again. Above, Troilus (Hugo Salazar) having seen his love go over to the other side and take up with one of their soldiers finds he wants nothing more than revenge and berserker like fights with Ajax (Diana Lee).

Troilus (Hugo Salazar) fights his way through the lines and faces off against Diomedes (Tim Williams). Troilus is angered even further as Diomedes wears a piece of his uniform that he gave to Cressida as a keepsake. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
At one point, the Greeks are losing the battle as Hector takes down their lines. Here Nestor (Lee Goffin-Bonenfant) and Diomedes (Tim Williams) are ready to admit the defeat but the Ulysses (Jennifer Mauerhofer) tries to rally his comrades. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
Thersites (Ashley Addelman) sarcastically comments on the fighting Greeks and Trojans comparing them to animals and would enjoy if they all killed each other. Here, he in encountered by a rampaging Hector (David Sewell) and cowers in front of him. Hector decides that he isn’t worth killing and moves on and this snub upsets Thesites. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT

Hector kills Achilles’ friend Patroclus and this drives Achilles to fight. Here he and Hector begin one to one combat by Hector disarms him. Achilles later gathers some of his soldiers, ambushes and kills Hector spelling eventual defeat for the Trojans. Stratford Library Amphitheater, Stratford, CT
