For our final show of 2008, we tackled a well known show with a different twist, an All-Female Julius Caesar. While following the familiar story of the down fall of one of the greatest generals in history, Shakespeare's play also meditates as a modern study of politics. Unchecked ambition, backroom and backalley dealings, and who can sway the masses with the best stump speech. We set this in a post modern world that mixed Roman suggestive and modern costuming and Roman weaponry. This is actually our second treatment of an all-female show as we initally performed 'Caesar' as a spring 'in the schools' show. The idea was so enthusiastically received we revived it for a summer treatment.
