Shakespeare returns to library on July 25
What would happen if Romeo and Juliet had lived? Would their love have endured?
William Shakespeare sought to answer these questions with another couple in his dark comedy, Troilus and Cressida, to be presented by the Hudson Shakespeare Company of New Jersey at te Stratford Library, July 25 at 2 p.m.
Set during the Trojan War, Troilus (Hugo Salazar), a prince of Troy is passionately in love with the beautiful and mature minded Cressida (Stephanie Jones). As an encounter brokered by father figure uncle Pandar (Stephen Bidwell), the two soon are torn apart by the ongoing war with the Greeks. Though each swears devotion to the other the course of their love doesn’t run as smoothly as expected.
