Caption: The illegitimate son of Richard the Lion Hearted known as the Bastard (Bjorn Pederson) swears allegiance to his uncle King John (James Pravaselis) in King John. Ths Hudson Shakespeare Company will perform the play at 2p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Stratford Library.

Library Hosts 'King John' Saturday

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street, will present The Hudson Shakespeare Company with the second offering of its 2008 Shakespeare in the parks festival, King John at 2p.m. Saturday, July 19 in the library's outdoor amphitheater.

There is no charge for admission. Patrons should have a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of rain, the play will be presented in the library's air-conditioned Lovell Room.

Hudson Shakespeare Company was founded in 1992 and tours with outdoor plays.
